It was lovely to hear about the pivotal role our Deputy Home Managers play in running our homes, while still finding time to go the extra mile in ensuring the delivery of special resident experiences. Nichola has shown a continued dedication to caring for others. She showed a breadth of knowledge about all areas of home life, including helping her team develop and supporting the Home Manager. What really shone through, though, was this person’s determination to make a difference to residents, particularly at the end of their lives. Nichola spoke of the importance of ensuring that residents have a voice, and finding out about their lives so that we can provide the best care in our homes because – in our winner’s words – “it’s their home”. Congratulations Nichola.”
