Debra Davison, Dementia Unit Manager at Highfield Hall Care Home in Rossendale has been crowned ‘Dementia Care Champion’ at the Four Seasons Care Awards.
The award Debra won commends her passion for providing outstanding dementia care and how she has gone the extra mile to make a difference and provide special experiences for our residents who live with dementia.
Following over 1,000 nominations, Debra was shortlisted with five other colleagues from over 250 Four Seasons Care Homes across the UK.
Colin Sheeran, Dementia Care Framework Lead Project Facilitator for Four Seasons Health Care, who presented Debra with this award said: “Debra talked passionately about how residents, relatives and colleagues work together to create special experiences. She told us that she and her team get as much information from the residents as they possibly can so they can tailor their experiences around them. You’re very deserving of this award Debra.”
Gaynor Lund, Home Manager for Highfield Hall said: “Deb has now worked for Four Seasons Health Care for the past 8 years at Highfield Hall. She is the Unit Manager of the Dementia Unit and lives and breathes for her residents. She puts 100% into her work at all times and I can truly say that she is passionate and dedicated to her work. Debs will go the extra mile for the Unit, residents and colleagues and deserves to be recognised for her hard work and dedication shown to Highfield Hall. Congratulations Debra! You are truly deserving of this special accolade.”
On receiving the award, Debra said: “It was really nice to be recognised for this award. I never expected to actually win though. It is truly a humbling moment for me. Going the extra mile is something I and my team do every day, to ensure that our residents have some truly special experiences with us.”
