Following over 1,000 nominations, Catherine was shortlisted with five other colleagues from over 250 Four Season’s Care Homes across the UK.
Paul Hayes, Commissioning and Commercial Operations Director for Four Seasons Health Care, who presented Catherine with this award said: “What can we say about Catherine. She is a very humble individual who would praise her team before herself. She has played an integral role at Ty Gwynno and her passion to make a difference has shone through. Congratulations Catherine on winning this award.”
Janina John, Home Manager for Ty Gwynno Care Home said: “Since commencement of my post at Ty Gwynno, Cath was of tremendous support and assistance in a role that was new to me. In this current climate of shortage of Nurses, I was having to run the Nursing Unit as well as the entire home and it was of significant help and reassurance that Cath was leading her unit. Her knowledge of the residents and their backgrounds has been priceless. Cath runs her unit by example, she encourages and commends colleagues accordingly. Cath and her team make a difference every single day which is reflected in the feedback we receive from residents, relatives and visitors to the home. Well done Cath.”
On receiving the award, Catherine said: “I was over the moon when I found out I was nominated. I am completely shocked and humbled to have won. I feel no different to anyone else, not special in any way, but I am privileged to be highly thought of by my colleagues.”
