Many people contribute to the successful day-to-day running of any care home. It is not just our care team who care; our support team do too.
You might not get to see them daily, but they are there, ensuring our homes are maintained, our rooms are cleaned and our meals are prepared. They are also chatting with our residents, getting involved in activities and supporting families – in short they are a vital component of the Four Seasons Health Care family.
Today we would like to recognise our Four Seasons Health Care support colleagues by sharing some of the lovely feedback we receive praising the work they do:
“Steve knows all the residents by name, their likes or dislikes, what condiments they like etc. He interacts with residents. During my relatives final days he also took great a care of us, her family, ensuring we were well fed and cared for.”
“What a wonderful, caring man! Bob, as he is known, is dedicated to his job of keeping the gardens at Cameron House looking bright and beautiful. He tends the gardens as if they were his own. Above all, he gets fully involved with all the residents by running the gardening club and encouraging the residents to make hanging baskets, grow vegetables and flowers etc. He also helps with activities and events during the year - a real gem!!”
“There isn’t anything a trouble for Kathleen. When my Husband and myself are feeling low, Kathleen brightens my day. She isn’t just a cleaner, she is a mentor, she is a bright star that shines and lights our days. If my Husband is struggling during a time I’m absent she will step in and be his guide and his strength. Her smile is constant and her presence is total throughout the home.”
“Linda always provides me with the requests I ask for - i.e. Gets me my kippers and grapefruit. She makes my porridge just the way I like it and I love her.”
“Tony is unfailingly cheerful. He knows the names of all the residents and interacts with them at all times. He chats and waves as he makes his way around the home. Never seems to stop working but always with a smile. My Mother is a wanderer and he is so kind to her and makes her laugh. I believe he deserves recognition for his qualities, the home would be a poorer place without him.”
The examples above are just a selection of the nominations we receive for our internal prize, the ROCK award. A ROCK (Recognition of Care and Kindness) award is a nationwide honour that specifically highlights the impact a Four Season Health Care employee has made on the lives of people living in one of their care homes.
Reading these nominations truly highlights the impact we as care home colleagues can have on anyone who enters any of our homes. To all of our support colleagues we thank you for your hard work and determination, and for your kindness and compassion.
