There’s only one more week to go until the big day!
With this in mind, we thought it was about time we shared some of the Christmas cheer from our homes.
Our care teams are outstanding, and always go the extra mile to make Christmas special for our residents and their loved ones.
As well as the traditional Christmas day celebrations of presents, crackers, party hats and a home-cooked Christmas dinner with all the trimmings (finishing with a brandy Christmas pudding of course), our care teams also work hard to ensure the run-up to Christmas is just as special as the big day!
During the festive period of year, you will find all of our homes embracing the Christmas spirit with festive decorations and a jam-packed activity schedule, including Christmas Fayres, theatre productions and Christmas craft sessions coming to the homes.
Earlier this month, our residents from Hallgarth Care Home in Durham requested a trip to the local Garden Centre which had been transformed into a Christmas grotto.
Of course, their wish was granted. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas trip. A personal favourite was the Christmas Wish Tree. Our resident, Blanche, insisted on reading all of the children’s wishes and requests to Santa; one young man even wished to be Prime Minister! Blanche decided to join in and wished for a happy healthy Christmas, and hoped for everyone's wishes come true.
All of our residents enjoyed walking among the Christmas trees and decorations, and once everyone had taken in all the sights it was off to the café for a mince pie (or two).
As well as Christmas trips, many of our Four Seasons Health Care homes are transformed into lively winter market places hosting festive fayres for our residents.
Our care team and our residents from Northlea Court Care Home in Cramlington got into the festive spirit by embracing all things Christmas in preparation for hosting their Christmas Fayre. Our residents' families, friends and people from the local community were in attendance, and even Santa made an appearance!
Sandra Smith, Home Manager, said: “It’s the most wonderful time of the year and everyone has been having lots of fun. Our Christmas Fayre was a huge success and raised a fantastic £632.50 which will help to provide special experiences for our residents. I want to thank everyone who donated. Merry Christmas from Northlea Court.”
For many of our residents Christmas is a very special time of the year filled with fond memories, and our devoted care teams do all they can to make sure our residents are able to enjoy the festive season by embracing and honouring their traditions.
Our mini Christmas round up wouldn’t be complete without sharing this adorable video of Rogan the Christmas Elf delivering advent calendars to our residents at Wansbeck care home. Thank you to Rogan for spreading some Christmas joy!
Merry Christmas everyone!
